happy 2011.

it's been a packed several months since i've been on my hiatus from writing about anything in particular. we completed a kitchen remodel. we completely reorganized our living room. i'm lying on our brand new couch right now!

no BIG vacations, but we spent a weekend in big bear with my whole family, and a weekend with my girls up in the cayucos/paso robles/slo area for leanne's bachelorette party. it's going to be busy for the next few weeks as we get ready for the big day for l and t.

work has been crazy, to say the least. i was promoted again on march 1, this time into my (now former) boss's position as manager of the marketing department. yikes. it is taking a lot of getting used to, with a whole different set of expectations and responsibilities...but i guess all changes take some getting used to.

jeff has been doing a bit of traveling this year, which has left me up to my own devices. i think with how completely packed the past many months had been, i've been savoring the opportunity to catch up on tv, movies that jeff has no interest in, and relaxing.

we've got a trip to hawaii coming up in a few months. with all the miles jeff is racking up with his travel, i wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get another trip to the islands in before the end of the year. checking my last pay stub, i'll exceed my max vacation time allowed in december...and we can't have that happen. i'm not the type of person to let vacation time go to waste.

all in all, things are good. cute house. cute dog. cute husband. good things happening to good friends.

every once in a while, though, i do feel like running away from it all. :) that's normal, right?
