back in the day, bryan sent me a link to this website with a sound file for a dorky looking kid. it went "hello my future girlfriend. this is what i sound like."

for obvious reasons, it was one of those things that just cracked us up...and now here we are 9 years later and we still joke about it. trista said she would keep it on her desktop to play when she was feeling down.

the only thing i can think of that even comes close to cracking me up in the same pathetic way is the photo and thought of superion, black superman, who we saw at comic-con last year.

this past weekend was probably one of the fullest in memory, with all sorts of people visiting from out of town, and rockin show, fun bbq, and lots of visiting with friends new and old.

this photo of the heavy metal warrior being attacked by a 4 year old with a watergun really makes me smile. and as an interesting bit of trivia...jeff and i randomly ran into this little boy's mom (a long lost friend) while we were on our very first date, one day before she gave birth to him. so here's to long lost friends becoming friends again, and 40-year-old mentally challenged rock stars.

it's good to be alive.

i highly recommend the "night moves" photo safari adventure at the wild animal park. jeff got us a trip on one as my big birthday present, and we went over the weekend. we got to feed rhinos and giraffes and see all sorts of cute, baby animals way up close.

today i finally cut my wedding hair and donated it to locks of love. i'm so excited to have low maintenance hair again. hooray.

happy 4th of July, folks. i hope you all have a safe and fun holiday with your friends and/or loved ones.

i'll be spending mine in the company of my husband and friends, first at our annual trek to the mira mesa parade, and then who knows... but i'm sure it will be fun.

with july upon us already, my mind has been wandering to upcoming summer events and vacations.

we get to take an evening safari tour at the wild animal park next weekend...my birthday gift from my sweet husband. i'm really looking forward to it.

if you live in san diego, don't miss the appearance of the Heavy Metal Warrior as AK47 at the kensington club on friday, july 15th. it's 21 and up. if you show up before 10, he'll be signing free glossies of himself. and i'm serious when i say you should show up. his SD show is an annual event not to be missed.

at the end of this month, jeff, ben, and i will be traveling to kentucky to partake in the 4th annual lebowski fest. we don't expect to follow up our 3rd place costume contest win from the fest west back in march with another go at it. 3rd place is pretty good, and we want to take in everything louisville has to offer without the stress of another creative outfit thrown in. if we are lucky, greg, aka "brother hermann", will be joining us, too.

it's shaping up to be another crazy summer...but we really wouldn't have it any other way.

the only other thing i want to mention is if you leave in southern california near the beach, you gotta check out the red tide at night. i haven't gone to see it in years, but jeff and i went last night and had a blast. it's amazing how bright blue green the waves break in the dark, and running around in the wet sand looks almost like lighting everytime your foot hits the ground. nature can be so weird and cool at the same time.
